I Believe I believe in Respect. Respect students for who they are, what they know and what they bring to the classroom. Teach respect in the classroom and students tend to be very accepting of everyone. Each individual deserves respect. I believe in Belonging. Students need to know they are contributing and they are always welcome. Recognize who each individual is and make the classroom feel like a family environment. |
Teddy's StoryThis story really touched my heart and shows to me how caring for each and every student is something I truly believe in.

I believe in Excitement. Try to fill the curriculum with exciting lessons and memorable experiences as much as possible. Children will get much more knowledge from an exciting lesson.
I believe in Encouragement. Students need to know someone believes in them and they need to be encouraged every day. Positive encouragement should come not only from me, as a teacher, but from student to student.
I believe in Honesty. Be honest with myself but more importantly be honest with my students, their parents and my colleagues. Always have an open mind and take criticism positively. If you are honest with others, they will be honest with you. Honesty truly is the best policy.
I believe in Success. Every child wants to learn, everybody wants to succeed. Some students will be eager and some will make it harder for you as a teacher, but every student wants to learn. Teachers should take the time to get to know each individual, find out the things they are passionate about and try to help each child achieve their goals.
I believe in Patience. A teacher must always be patient, some days will be harder than others, but learning how to deal with the challenges we are faced with and seeing the positives in each experience is what will make a difference. Accept each challenge with a positive outlook and view them as opportunities for growth.
I believe in Equality. Each classroom will be diverse; from different learning styles, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and interests, and it is up to the teacher to accept everyone for who they are.
I believe in Laughter. Don’t be afraid to grease your giggling gears each day. Laughter can always brighten a classroom, and remember laughter is contagious.
I believe in Endless Learning. As you teach the children, they will teach you. Reflect on each experience and always find ways to improve. Each child will have a lesson for you, learn from them. Learn from your colleagues, they are all there to help you succeed.
I believe in Positive Experiences. I believe I am capable of providing a valuable learning experience, which the students will take with them for the rest of their lives.
